Another spirit said to haunt Lithia Park, this one being that of a cheerful logger who warns people of danger.

In Depth:

When it was first opened in 1908, Lithia Park was only a small patch of land, but eventually grew inside to a nearly 100 acre park with duck ponds and streams, walking paths, a Japanese garden, a playground, and a bandshell. It even had a zoo and campgrounds at one time, but those days have long since passed. However, the park is also home to a few dark secrets, including stories of numerous ghosts haunting the grounds.

One such ghost is that of the 'Whistling Logger,' the spirit of a lumberjack that was supposedly killed on the job. While this tragedy cannot be backed up with news reports from the time, supposedly this dead logger still haunts the park. According to legend he will let you know his spirit is still around by whistling tunes on his favorite instrument: an old jug.

If you hear the sound of the jug while wondering along the paths around Lithia Park or in the nearby forests, be prepared to move. The logger seems to want to warn others of their own impending timber-related accidents, and people who hear the sound of a jug while out enjoying nature have been saved from falling trees when an invisible force shoved them out of the way.

Some others report that they have spotted an apparition of logger cutting through the densely wooded areas of the park in a plaid shirt and carrying an axe, only to disappear soon after being spotted.
