In Depth: Roger and Linda Scarberry and their friends Steve and Mary Mallette went on a drive late at night on November 15, 1966, near the location of an old World War II instillation in the current-day McClintic Wildlife Management Area, near Point Pleasant. Along the road they witnessed a large figure standing near the side of the road, which they described as looking like a man, but having large red eyes and white wings.
