While the Wolf Creek Inn is known for its hauntings, it also has one legendary story where a guest had a run in with a vampire-like creature.
In Depth:
The Wolf Creek Inn was originally constructed in the 1850s as a place for travelers to stop as they made their way over the Applegate trail. It went through several transformations over the years, eventually becoming a first class hotel and was a popular stop along the Oregon Stage Coach line between San Francisco and Portland.
Over the years, Wolf Creek Inn had many famous guests, including Jack London, President Rutherford B. Hayes and Sinclair Lewis. However, there is one repeat guest that can occasionally be seen here that is famous for a whole other reason.
In the 1970s a guest that was staying at the Inn said they had encountered what they could only describe as a "vampire-like creature" complete with large fangs and blood around its mouth. The creature approached and attacked him getting in a good bite before running off into the woods.
The so-called vampire has since been seen in several locations around the Inn, including inside the actual hotel itself. However, there has not been a single attack by the creature since the first, just sightings.
Some believe that the creature is a cryptid, others that it is the ghost of a mental patient that simply desires to be a monster. Whatever it is, it is probably best to steer clear if seen.
