Stories of a ghostly witch wandering around the Lafayette Pioneer Cemetery have become widespread over decades, and ghost hunters have flocked to the location in order to have an experience with the supernatural only to have regrets in doing so.

Supposedly, the ghost belongs to Anna Marple, who had cursed the town of Lafayette to burn down three times when her son was hung for the crime of committing murder with an ax. While her body was indeed buried elsewhere, stories claims she haunts the cemetery, attacking visitors and chasing them to the gates, sometimes leaving claw marks on their backs.
