In Depth:

This location in Freetown State Park in Massachusetts features a massive rock which looked as though it had the silhouette of a man's face. The profile was apparently carved into the rock at some point - though who exactly performed to carving or why is not known - but it was believed for some time that the face represented that of Wampanoag Chief, Massasoit Sachem. The piece of the rock that made up the nose fell off a few years ago, but the name remains.

Legend has it that the area around the rock is rife with strange stories, including murder, ghosts, and murder cults that enjoy making people ghosts. But it's more famous for the strange lights that appear around the rock at night, as well as disembodied voices that can be heard.
