According to local legend, the Bilbo Cemetery is one of the few graveyards that may be somewhat comforting to visit at night because of a spirit known as the feu-follet. This ghost light is said to appear above the grave that you are looking for if you visit after dark, essentially 'leaving the light on' for you and other visitors.

Reports of seeing the feu-follet of Bilbo cemetery have been happening since the 1840s, which is located in the northeast corner of Lake Charles. It is one of the few benevolent versions of this ghost light legend, which is sometimes claimed to be ghosts or fairies.
